In a "Virtual Voting Conversation" yesterday, the entertainment mogul declared her support for Democrat John Fetterman in his Senate race against Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania. Oz rose to television prominence as a frequent guest dispensing health advice for five seasons on Winfrey's hit talk show, and her production company oversaw "The Dr. Oz Show," which made him a television star. Dwyane Wade's ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, has asked a California court to prevent the former NBA star from allowing their 15-year-old transgender daughter Zaya to legally change her name and gender. "This isn't a game for my family and definitely not for Zaya," Wade responded on Instagram yesterday. "This is her life." Funches-Wade asked to wait until Zaya was "the age of maturity" to make changes to her identity, and said she had concerns Wade was pressuring Zaya so he could profit off financial opportunities, according to court documents. "While none of us are surprised by Siohvaughn's attempt to fight Zaya's identity and her unwavering attempt to drag my name through the mud, I'm very disappointed that she continuously find ways of centering herself and HER needs, without regard to her children," Wade wrote. |

Ahead of the release of her documentary, "Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me," the star singer and actor revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that she went to four treatment centers in her 20s and then was ultimately diagnosed with bipolar disorder after a period of psychosis in 2018 in which she said she started hearing voices. She also described being on numerous medications before a psychiatrist took her off all drugs except two. "I had to learn how to remember certain words," she said. "I would forget where I was when we were talking. It took a lot of hard work for me to (a) accept that I was bipolar, but (b) learn how to deal with it because it wasn't going to go away." |
