A pillow with a "reddish/brown stain," a "collection of dark red spotting," a disposable glove and at least a dozen strands of hair were among the items investigators seized from the apartment of Bryan Kohberger, the former doctoral student charged with killing four University of Idaho college students, according to a search warrant released yesterday. One hair strand is possibly from an animal, while the other hair samples aren't specifically identified, according to the warrant. Police have not revealed a motive or found what they believe to be the murder weapon. Kohberger, 28, has not yet entered a plea in the case. Here's the latest. |

The star of several Oscar-nominated films, including "A Room with a View," has been missing for six days since going hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains, authorities said yesterday. Sands, 65, was reported missing on Jan. 13 on a trail on Mt. Baldy, officials said. Search-and-rescue crews have been looking for him but have not been able to resume a ground search since Jan. 14 because of trail conditions and an avalanche risk. Two other hikers have recently died in the area, which was hit by storms last weekend that created dangerous conditions. Here's the latest. |

One dad has had enough of the phone relentlessly buzzing with updates from his group text with his wife and two daughters. He crafted the perfect opt-out message for anyone who is at their wit's end with modern group text etiquette. "I can't keep up with the pressure of always have to lol or like or heart everyone's random thoughts, pics and amusements," Dr. Thomas D'Orazio, an eye surgeon, wrote to the group. "For all future texts: I love them, laugh at them, or like them, unless it's bad, then I dislike them. In perpetuity. I can't live with this pressure. I'm out." D'Orazio's daughter Allison, 23, shared a screenshot of the funny message in a tweet. "The three of us are very extroverted and send random stuff all day long," Allison told us. "He's so kind and and engaged with our lives, and I think it was stressing him out that he can't respond to all the messages." It also turns out it wasn't a farewell message. "It was just a bluff!" Allison said. |
