You should definitely wash your face at least once a day, says dermatologist Dr. Shari Lipner. But you don't want to over wash. If you find that your skin feels tight or dry after washing it in the winter, you don't need to wash it any more than once a day, she says. "Cleansing your skin is OK, but you don't want to be washing your face multiple times a day." Instead, she recommends cleansing your face fully in the evening and just using a splash of water in the morning. This great tip could save you from stripping your skin — and it could cut some time out of your morning routine. Remember that you don't have to mindlessly heed a list of skin care rules, your skin will tell you if you're over cleansing. All you have to do is pay attention and — maybe — do a little less work. |
