Two young sisters who died in the catastrophic Texas flooding were found holding hands, according to relatives. Blair and Brooke Harber, ages 13 and 11, were vacationing with their family in the Casa Bonita cabin community in Hunt, Texas, when devastating flash floods tore through the area in the early morning hours of July 4. The sisters' bodies were recovered on July 5, about 15 miles downstream. When rescuers reached them, "their hands were locked together," Jennifer Harber, the girls' paternal aunt, said. |

This macaroni salad from recipe developer Alexa Weibel is bright, acidic and herbaceous. The elements of a traditional macaroni salad are preserved, but are bolstered by bright flavors: lemon zest, tangy capers and pickles, crunchy celery and tons of fresh herbs. This version goes lighter on mayonnaise than the original, swapping in tangy buttermilk for a dressing that is more glossy than gloopy. |
