The Senate overwhelmingly passed a $95 billion package last night that provides critical aid to Ukraine and includes a provision that could lead to a nationwide ban on TikTok. President Biden said last night that he will quickly sign the bill into law. The legislation gives ByteDance, TikTok's Chinese parent company, nine months to sell the social media platform or be banned in the U.S. Here's the latest.
Earlier this month, a dairy worker in Texas became just the second person to test positive for avian influenza, aka bird flu, in the United States. Fragments of the virus have also been found in pasteurized milk, according to the FDA. A leading expert at the World Health Organization recently called the risk of the bird flu spreading to humans "an enormous concern" — but you shouldn't worry. A small British town has immortalized the late Queen Elizabeth II by portraying her in her essence — out in nature with her corgis by her side. The town of Oakham recently unveiled a new statue of the queen, who died at 96 in 2022, that shows her looking regal as her beloved pooches playfully surround her.
