The fight over abortion rights boosted Democrats in races at all levels during yesterday's off-year elections around the country. In Ohio, voters passed a ballot initiative that enshrined abortion rights in the state constitution, while Democrats won back control of the legislature in Virginia after Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin campaigned on enacting new abortion restrictions. In Pennsylvania, a Democratic state Supreme Court candidate was able to win a race in which abortion rights were a top issue. Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear won reelection in Kentucky (above) after attacking his opponent on his abortion stance. As far as national politics, five Republican presidential hopefuls will take the stage tonight for the third Republican debate, minus front-runner Donald Trump. Here's what to know about the debate, which begins at 8 p.m. ET and will air on NBC News and Peacock. |

One day in July 2022, Barbara Green, 79, woke up in the middle of the night itching from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. She tried an over-the-counter cream for relief, but said the itchiness felt like "a bug bite that's spread to your entire body." She was stunned when CT scans at the hospital led to a diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer. "I had no idea there was anything wrong with me," she told TODAY.com. Itchiness can be a symptom if the pancreatic tumor blocks the bile duct, according to the American Cancer Society. It's now been 15 months since Green was told she had less than a year to live. A little pick-me-up before you go. |
McDreamy is now the McDream-iest. Former "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey, 57, was named People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2023, which was revealed last night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" People has been naming a Sexiest Man Alive since 1985 and somehow it hasn't been until now that Dempsey has worn the crown. "I've always been the bridesmaid! I'd completely forgotten about it and never even contemplated being in this position. So my ego is good," Dempsey told People. Earlier this year, TODAY learned our own Al Roker was nominated for People's "Sexiest Grandpa" and Craig Melvin was in the running for "Sexiest Morning Show Host." |
