Steph has a great tip for you!
Welcome to the November walking challenge! Start TODAY is a community of almost 150,000 members across the country who are all committed to getting healthy — together! We're so glad you're here. |
It's easier to remember to drink water when it's hot out because your body temperature rises when you walk. When your body temperature meets warm weather and you add in exertion, what you get is sweat — and sweating makes you feel thirsty. As temps drop, you may not get as hot as you used to get, which could make you forget to drink water after your walk! To help you remember, try setting an alarm on your phone to remind you to drink a glass water when you get home. If you'd rather go low tech, put a sticky note on your fridge that simply says, "WATER!" One of my clients did this and she swears that she by doubled her water intake in just one week. All thanks to a simple sticky note! You can also leave yourself a filled water bottle waiting for you someplace you'll see it as soon as you're done walking — like where you put your keys. Put a sticky on it with a little inspirational quote or a simple, "Good job!" Then you can hydrate and motivate at the same time. Win-win! Happy hydrating, Stephanie |
