A California school district has fired its superintendent after an investigation into allegations that she threatened the graduation privileges of members of a high school softball team for not clapping loudly enough for her daughter. After an awards banquet last May for the Del Norte High School softball team, students said Marian Kim Phelps called and texted accusing them of not clapping enough for her daughter at the ceremony, NBC San Diego reported. The team's coach said he alerted the school board to Phelps' "abuse of power" and that his livelihood was threatened as a result. Phelps denied the allegations in a statement to NBC San Diego. A little pick-me-up before you go. |
Teenagers can get a bad rap for being disrespectful, but one Montana dad of a 7-year-old thinks "they definitely can be some of the coolest people on the planet." A TikToker who goes by The Bearded Bard took his young son to a trampoline park, where two teens bounced with him for 45 minutes, laughing and showing him how to flip. The dad recorded a video thanking the older boys for making his son's day. "We were into it," Shikai Bowens, one of the teens in the video, told TODAY.com. "It's fun to be a good role model." |
