Pounds aren't the only thing some people are shedding on weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy. In social media groups, users are reporting that they've experienced hair loss while taking semaglutide, better known by the brand names Ozempic and Wegovy. The same goes for tirzepatide, which is sold under the name Mounjaro. "Hair loss is unlikely related to the drugs, but more likely related to weight loss that is a result of these drugs," a doctor at UCLA told NBC News. Hair loss can be a rare side effect, and most of it is temporary, one dermatologist told NBC News. "There is generally a three-month lag after weight loss stops, when you hit that plateau, that the shedding will slowly start to dissipate and hair will start to grow back," she said. |

If you didn't make it to our first Start TODAY event in California's Sonoma County, you can still get a taste of the region's mouthwatering food right at home with this colorful wine country paella from chef Ari Weiswasser. Unlike a traditional Spanish paella, the socarrat (crispy rice) forms on the top of the dish from the flame of a wood-fired oven or a home convection oven set to 550 degrees. The vegetarian dish includes tomatoes, peppers, fennel, asparagus, white beans and more. We also have two other local Sonoma delicacies — collard green chowder with ham, and a crème brulée for dessert. Get the recipes. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
This moose knows — sometimes the movie popcorn is even better than the movie! Kenai Cinemas in Alaska had a visitor hungry for some popcorn with movie theater butter on it when a young moose stopped by one night last week. Surveillance video shared by NBC affiliate KTUU showed the moose getting loose on an abandoned tray of popcorn and then trawling the garbage can for some extra eats. A door had been left open to allow fresh air into the building, and the moose took it as a cue to have a late-night snack. Apparently "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" and "Evil Dead Rise" weren't enough to keep the moose interested to stay for a showing. It left after about five minutes with a belly full of snacks. |
