Many of us covet clear skin. So much so that that we spend oodles of money trying to achieve the perfect glow. But there's one small thing you can do in the shower that may make a big difference — and it's totally free!
It turns out that the order you clean your body parts in is important. Showering top-to-bottom lets the soap work its way down. If you are acne-prone, experts suggest washing your face, chest and back after conditioning the hair.
"For people with sensitive skin and/or acne prone skin. I recommend shampooing, conditioning, let the conditioner sit while shaving, rinse the conditioner, then cleanse the skin," Dr. Lauren Ploch, a board-certified dermatologist with the American Academy of Dermatology, told TODAY.
That way you ensure that no residue from your hair products lingers on your skin. Plus, having an expert-approved order of operations when it comes to self-care can take some of the guesswork out of your morning routine, and you can't put a price tag on that!
