Have you ever wondered why it feels so pricey to eat well? Well, you're not the only one. According to recent survey by the Cleveland Clinic, 46% of Americans view healthy food as more expensive. The thing is that the supposed expense associated with healthy eating is actually just a myth! Vanessa Rissetto, a registered dietitian, was on the show yesterday and she explained to Craig Melvin how we can all eat healthier on a budget. "People always think that vegetables and fruits are so expensive and that you can only eat organic," she told Craig. "Well, actually, the dollar store has fruits and vegetables for one dollar." If you had no idea that you could buy produce at the dollar store, you're not alone — Craig didn't know either. So the next time you're out grocery shopping, check out your local dollar store and see what fruits and veggies you can stock up on inexpensively. Also, check out the freezer section. You might find your favorite frozen berries there — for $1! |
