Tyre Nichols was laid to rest yesterday at an emotional funeral ceremony in Memphis in which Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about his life and the Rev. Al Sharpton delivered a eulogy. Nichols, 29, who died three days after being brutally beaten by police at a traffic stop on Jan. 7, was remembered by his mother as a "beautiful person," while Sharpton called for police reform and said Nichols will be "a symbol of justice all over this country." Mahogany Geter, a model in Tennessee, opened up to us about life with lymphedema, a medical condition in which abnormal swelling is caused by a buildup of fluid in the body's tissues. Mahogany describes a childhood in which she avoided mirrors after being born with lymphedema in her left leg that caused it to swell to 100 pounds. "When I'm out in public, people stare at me. There's a lot of pointing — and I'm talking about adults here," she told us. "Kids have the courage to ask me questions." She wore long pants and skirts to try to cover her leg for years until she became a model in 2017 and started posting about her condition. See her photos here, as well as how she manages her condition. |

🧹 How the Swedish art of 'death cleaning' could be the spark you need to get organized and feel healthier. |
|
|
If you feel like clutter is overtaking your home, "death cleaning" could be the inspiration you need to get organized. A tradition in Sweden, the habit means ridding yourself of unnecessary stuff, or in the words of best-selling Swedish author Margareta Magnusson, making sure we don't "leave a mountain of crap behind for our loved ones to clean up when we die." While death cleaning is more about making life simpler than worrying about dying, it goes along with Magnusson's tips on how to "age exuberantly." Other positive habits include always having something to look forward to and finding comfort in routine. See them all here. |

Allow us to do the meal-planning for you. |
Leave it up to a former NFL linebacker-turned chef to combine two Super Bowl snack favorites, spring rolls and Buffalo wings, into his own Buffalo chicken spring rolls. Derrell Smith's creation combines the Buffalo flavor that's a staple of tailgate eats with the ease of only needing one hand to snack on a spring roll. Derrell also shared his easy pizza pockets filled with chopped meatballs and mozzarella cheese that will keep you happy even if your team just gave up a touchdown. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
If you think you're having trouble picking between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, imagine being Donna Kelce. She's the mother of the first set of brothers to ever square off as players in the NFL championship — Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce and Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce. "This is going to be so awesome," she told TODAY while wearing her combined Eagles-Chiefs jersey. Both Jason and Travis have already won a Super Bowl with their respective teams, so Donna says this one is more about "bragging rights at the Thanksgiving table." When it comes to who she's rooting for, there's a clear answer: "Absolutely, the offense," she laughed. Watch her full interview here. |
