The flu season is brutal, but you're not powerless when it comes to keeping the illness at bay.

If you have a sick person at home, keep him or her confined to one room and one bathroom. It reduces exposure to the rest of the family and limits the number of rooms you have to disinfect.

Since the flu virus can live on hard surfaces for 24 hours, disinfect anything the sick person has touched. Use an antibacterial cleaner on key spots such as tabletops, countertops, remote controls, computer keyboards, doorknobs, light switches and faucet handles.

Follow the link to find out how to reduce flu germs in the bedroom and why you need to take special care when doing laundry.
