More than a quarter of women say a doctor has ignored or dismissed their symptoms, and almost a third say they feel like they need to "prove" their complaints, a TODAY and SurveyMonkey poll has found.
What can you say to get the doctor to hear you? Experts suggest phrasing your concern this way: "I know my body and I know something is not right. Try to engage the doctor as a partner, but be firm.
