Take a few minutes before your walk to warm up with some mobility exercises. Mobility training is key for combating aches and pain, improving range of motion and reducing our risk of injury.
"Walking entails a lot from the body: foot plantar flexion, to ankle dorsiflexion, to hip flexion and extension, to rotation in the pelvis and stability in the core … just to name a few" says trainer Kristina Centenari. "Doing mobility exercises before a walk is important to prime the body for all of these functions."
