A New York jury found two men guilty of murder yesterday in the 2002 killing of Jam Master Jay from the iconic hip-hop trio Run-D.M.C. Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington were accused of killing the deejay, born Jason Mizell, in a drug deal. Federal prosecutors have said Mizell got involved in cocaine trafficking in the mid-1990s as Run-D.M.C.'s notoriety was fading. In 2002, Washington and Jordan entered a recording studio in Queens, where Jordan shot Mizell twice at close range, prosecutors alleged. Here's the latest. |

TODAY's Craig Melvin admittedly never thought about raising biracial children when he and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, were first together. In a first-person essay for Black History Month, he writes about how he and Czarniak have since approached raising son Delano, 9, and daughter Sibby, 7, as their two kids begin to identify with a race. "What we have done, deliberately, is really try to expose our kids to both of our backgrounds," Craig wrote. He shared how he has taught his children about Black history, and how the stardom of Kansas Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is biracial, has hit home for Delano. Read the essay here. |

To help, here are five things to look for in a healthy protein bar. We also have other options for protein-filled snacks besides bars. See them all here. |

Achieve your life and health goals with easy tips. |
When is the best time to wake up? It's a simple question, but there's no concrete answer. It's less about the exact time, Dr. Daniel Barone of the Weill Cornell Center for Sleep Medicine told us, and more about whether that time allows you to sleep enough hours, remain consistent and get exposed to some sunlight in the morning. Your ideal wake-up time should be no less than seven hours after your bedtime, Barone says. We also have expert advice on whether it's healthy to sleep in on weekends, and three tips to wake up earlier without losing sleep. |

Making a plant-based meal doesn't mean you have to miss out on a traditionally hearty dish like Bolognese. YouTube star and chef Radhi Devlukia-Shetty stopped by the TODAY kitchen to share her meatless walnut-lentil Bolognese that's loaded with veggies and herbs. Her healthy spin on the classic sauce includes walnuts, lentils, carrots, celery, Italian seasoning and asafoetida, a spice often used in Indian food. Get the recipe. |
