We all know that exercise is good for our health. But it seems like there's a new study released every day reiterating that fact. Today, for example, a new study was released that showed that participants who got more physical activity had a lower risk for hospitalization due to nine conditions, including diabetes, gallbladder disease, blood clots, urinary tract infections and more. Not only that, but when the researchers substituted 20 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity for sedentary behavior, they also showed an even more significant reduction in hospitalizations. Basically, getting a bit of exercise will likely reduce your chance of being hospitalized with a serious condition, but getting 20 minutes of physical activity every day could reduce your risk of illness even more dramatically. Seems like a great motivator to get out there and walk! |
