| Basically all of my favorite meals involve noodles. And while you could never convince me to give up gluten-filled pastas, considering how often I eat dishes like pesto pasta, spaghetti arrabiata, pad Thai and the like, I figured that I should be occasionally swapping out the carb for something a little healthier. Which is why when I saw this peeler pop up on Instagram, I added it to my cart. The little tool has two sides: One features a serrated blade that can be used to peel vegetables, and the other — the side I use most often — has teeth to slice veggies into long, thin strips (aka instant noodles!). While I had a spiralizer in college, it lived mostly untouched in my kitchen cabinet, because it was so bulky and confusing to work. But this one gets used constantly! So far, I've made zucchini noodles and sweet potato noodles, which I use as the centerpiece in meals or add in to pasta dishes to up the veggie content (which I imagine would be a great hack for parents, too). Plus, I've used it to make thinly sliced carrots and cucumbers for salads and stir fries. Unlike the other tool I tried, this one is a breeze to clean. It's dishwasher-safe, though most of the time all I need to do is run it under the sink. At just $13, this affordable tool is a worthwhile purchase for anyone who is looking for simple ways to eat healthier! |
