A federal judge approved a request by former President Donald Trump for a special master (or, a third-party attorney) to oversee the evidence the FBI seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate last month, temporarily blocking parts of the Justice Department's investigation and dealing a blow to the government's case. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who is a Trump appointee, ruled yesterday that the special master should be allowed to review the seized documents to address questions of attorney-client privilege and to litigate claims of executive privilege. |

A body was discovered in Memphis one day after charges were announced against a man in the kidnapping case of Eliza Fletcher, 34, who was abducted while she was out jogging early Friday morning. Police stressed the deceased person's identity has not been confirmed. Fletcher, a kindergarten teacher and a mother of two, was violently abducted by a man in an SUV while on a run near the University of Memphis, police said. Authorities said Sunday that Cleotha Abston, 38, was charged with kidnapping and tampering with evidence in connection with Fletcher's disappearance. |

They say everyone has a twin out there somewhere, and an Ohio man found his while on vacation in a pool in Las Vegas. Kent State University professor Sean McArdle was lounging at the Hotel Flamingo when people started pointing to another guy in the pool who looked like his doppelganger. They even had similar hats and almost the exact same pair of glasses on, which he showed in a photo on Reddit. He never got the man's name, but it was an experience he won't forget. "I look over and it was like looking in the mirror," McArdle told us. "I've seen guys who've had similarities to me, but man, this guy just looked just like me. It was pretty surreal." |
