Double-masking — specifically, wearing a surgical mask underneath a cloth mask — may provide an extremely high level of protection against the viral particles that cause COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said this week.
Common surgical masks do a good job at protecting the wearer from large droplets, but they're less effective against tiny viral particles because they don't fit tightly -- with wearers often noticing gaps on the side of their faces. That's where "knotting and tucking" can help.
Follow the link to see a simple hack to improve the fit. It may be especially helpful for people with smaller faces, including children.
