Stretching is an important part of staying healthy. It enhances the body's range of motion and decreases the risk of injuries.
When you lose flexibility, it can cause a strain on your back, hips and knees. Plus, many of us spend more than eight hours a day sitting. That's when micro bursts of activity, like a quick stretch, can help.
To stretch your back, stand up and place your hands on your lower back, fingers pointing downward. Gently arch your back as you look up towards the ceiling until you feel a stretch. Hold a few seconds and release.
