How to help your body recover from a Halloween sugar binge

Happy Halloween! Trick-or-treaters and partygoers consume a terrifying amount of sugar during the spooky holiday, so the hours afterwards can feel a little strange.

Excess sugar is linked to a host of health issues including obesity and heart disease. On a more immediate level, your body takes a wild ride during a sugar binge.

Still, it's OK to treat yourself a bit if you're healthy and only do it once in a while, doctors say.
