A Texas man allegedly made $1.76 million from insider trading by eavesdropping on his wife's work-from-home calls about a merger that sent a stock's price soaring, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Houston's Tyler Loudon overheard his wife, a BP mergers and acquisitions manager, talking about the company's acquisition of TravelCenters of America, Inc., the SEC said. He bought 46,450 shares of TravelCenter's stock, which jumped nearly 71% on the merger news, and then sold it for a profit of $1.76 million, the SEC said.
