Donald Trump is set to appear in criminal court in New York City today, marking the first time in history that a former president will face criminal charges. Trump is expected to appear at the courthouse in Manhattan around noon ET for fingerprinting and to go before Judge Juan Merchan to enter a plea of not guilty around 2 p.m. The exact charges against Trump will be unsealed at today's arraignment after a grand jury voted to indict him last week in a case centered around hush money payments during the 2016 presidential campaign. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and called for a new judge to preside over the case. Here's the latest. |

The Chinese spy balloon that was shot down in February after flying across the country was able to gather intelligence from several sensitive American military sites, three current or former senior U.S. officials told NBC News in an exclusive. China was able to control the balloon so it could make multiple passes over some of the sites and transmit the information it collected back to Beijing in real time, the three officials said. The balloon also had a self-destruct mechanism that could have been activated from China. Defense Department officials said in February that the balloon had "limited additive value" for intelligence collection by the Chinese government. Here's the latest. |

Idaho mom Chelsea Torres shared with us how she has gone from covering up her conjoined twin daughters when out in public to now sharing photos and videos of them on social media. When her daughters were babies, Torres, 30, often draped a blanket over them in their stroller to conceal the fact that the girls were connected at the sternum. "When they were babies it was hard for me," she tells Today.com. "People would stare and take pictures ... It was just easier to hide them." But the mom of four now proudly documents their lives and says her family has no plans for the 6-year-olds to undergo separation surgery. "They don't know any other way of life," Torres says. "When people ask if they want to be separated, they're like, 'Huh? Why?'" Read their story and see more photos here. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
She eats chocolate every day, does yoga and dances to the Tush Push at 100 years old. She's Shirley Goodman, aka "The Dancing Nana" on Instagram, and she's not spending much time sitting around after celebrating her milestone birthday last month. The great-grandmother of eight from Sarasota, Florida, shared 4 pieces of advice with us about living longer from a life in which she played tennis until she was 90, lived through a pair of open-heart surgeries, and endured the death of her husband in 1995. "I'm an optimist," she told us. "I try to do positive thinking all the time. That's very important. I have a bracelet that says 'Positivity' on it. I wear it every day and I try to stay positive." See all her advice here. |
