Headaches can seem like common nuisances that randomly come up when you're stressed or feeling a little under the weather. However, they can also be a symptom of other life changes, especially for women. Boys and girls have about the same amount of headaches, but after age 9, that changes. Women experience serious headaches much more often than men – especially at times when the body's hormone balance is shifting. Headaches can also be triggered by lifestyle changes, such as the foods we eat, caffeine or alcohol, but they are more likely to occur when hormones are also shifting.
