When you give yourself a specific date to reach a goal, it often sets you up to fail, says nutritionist Keri Glassman. The stress of the date may work against you and if you don't see progress being made fast enough, you may say, "Scrap this plan!" even though you've actually made excellent progress. Instead, stay calm and healthy on. Patience and consistency are key.
