Tearful occasions, hearty laughs, surprise guests and special gifts — Craig Melvin's first day as co-anchor of TODAY alongside Savannah Guthrie was unforgettable. We can't wait for the official start of TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle in 2026! Following nearly a year of 60 guest co-hosts, Jenna Bush Hager announced in December that Sheinelle Jones would be joining her as the permanent co-host of the fourth hour of TODAY. It was an overwhelming moment for Sheinelle in a heart-wrenching year in which she lost her husband of 17 years and the father of her three children, Uche Ojeh, to brain cancer in May. "To have a show like this is beyond my wildest dreams," Sheinelle said. |

The TODAY family took a lap around America with an epic road trip theme in this year's Halloween extravaganza. You wouldn't know NYC ain't Texas after Sheinelle Jones brought Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" moves to the streets of Manhattan, while Carson Daly and Al Roker gave us a Rocky Balboa-Clubber Lang flashback straight out of 1982. Craig Melvin reigned in purple as Prince, and Savannah Guthrie channeled Miranda Priestly from "The Devil Wears Prada." That's all, dahling. |

For a devout Catholic like Carson Daly, it was a meeting he will never forget. Carson was able to get a few seconds with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican in December during a trip with Canadian crooner Michael Bublé, who performed at the Vatican's "Concert With the Poor." The TODAY co-host shared the experience in an essay for TODAY.com in which he also revealed the humble request he made to the first American-born pope in their brief interaction. |

Al Roker figured 7-year-old Elliott Austin would be wowed when he told her during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that she had received a "golden ticket" to see the legendary Rockettes. "I did that yesterday," she bluntly informed him. After their hilarious moment became a highlight of the parade, Al and Elliott reunited on TODAY in December, when she received surprise tickets to something she hadn't seen yet. "Yeah!" she yelled with joy. |
