Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for five counties in South Florida yesterday as officials warned residents to steer clear of "life threatening flooding" in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and other heavily populated areas. Hundreds of flights were cancelled, while part of southbound Interstate 95 in Broward County was shut down due to dangerous conditions. Fort Lauderdale got over a foot of rain yesterday, while Miami and other areas had nearly 10 inches. Here's the latest.
We've seen restaurants ban kids before, but one Caribbean restaurant in Missouri won't serve people who can legally drink or rent a car. Bliss Restaurant outside St. Louis has a policy that women under 30 and men under 35 are not allowed in. "It's just something for the older people to come to and have a happy hour and not have to worry about so many young folks that bring some of that drama," one assistant manager said. The graduating class of Cooper City High School in Florida may have set the unofficial record for people asking, "Which one are you again?" The Class of 2024 features 14 (!) sets of twins and a set of triplets, who make up 6% of the 543 students in the senior class. "It was crazy to see that it's so common and that there are so many people that are also twins," Jocelyn Reed, who graduated with her twin sister Gabrielle, told TODAY.com.
