Jessica Nuñez, the mother of Alicia Navarro, 18, made a plea in a video on Facebook for her family to be left alone now that her daughter has returned home after being missing for nearly four years. "I know you want answers, and I do, too. But the public's search for answers has taken a turn for the dangerous," Nuñez said. Navarro, who was 14 when she disappeared from her home in Glendale, Arizona, on Sept. 15, 2019, walked into a police station in a small Montana town last week to identify herself as a missing person. Her mother asked people to "move on" and give the family some privacy. "The public has gone from trying to help Alicia to doings things like trying to show up to her house and putting her safety in jeopardy," she said. "This is not a movie, this is our life. This is my daughter." Read more here. |

Paul Reubens, the actor who became a staple of '80s culture as oddball character Pee-wee Herman, died on Sunday at 70 after being ill with cancer for years, his team said yesterday. Reubens starred in the 1985 hit movie "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" and a sequel, as well as playing the character with the wacky laugh and unique voice on the Saturday morning show "Pee-wee's Playhouse" from 1986 to 1990. Reubens also made appearances on hit shows like "Murphy Brown" and "The Blacklist," and had a notable role in the Johnny Depp movie "Blow" in 2001. His illness had not been previously disclosed. Jenna is celebrating the 25th anniversary of a classic novel by selecting Judy Blume's "Summer Sisters" as her book club pick for this month. "It's about that time in your life where you're trying to figure out who you're going to be," Jenna said. "It is the perfect, perfect beach read but that doesn't mean that it's an easy read." The novel tells the story of friends Victoria "Vix" Leonard and Caitlin Somers spending summers together in Martha's Vineyard as kids and then coming back together for Caitlin's wedding as adults. Allow us to do the meal-planning for you. |
Dylan Dreyer has a tasty solution if you need a quick party appetizer or a meal for the family on a busy summer night: kielbasa with honey mustard. The TODAY meteorologist ate it with mac and cheese and some apple sauce growing up. She now serves it with her own sauce made from mayo, honey and mustard for a weeknight meal for her son Calvin (above) and her two younger boys. All you have to do is make the sauce and grill or broil the kielbasa until it's crispy on both sides. "My kids love it. It's like a fancy hot dog!" Dylan says. Get the recipe. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
For the first time since she became a mom 14 years ago, Sheinelle Jones has enjoyed a little "me time" on a solo vacation. Sheinelle shared a selfie on Instagram looking rested and happy from a rejuvenating trip to a wellness spa. She noted that her three children are away at summer camp, so she took the chance for a quick getaway. "Only a couple of days by myself," she wrote. "You know what I learned? I still enjoy my own company. I didn't have to talk when I didn't feel like it. I sat and ate dinner without a phone or a book to offer a distraction. Just my thoughts. I hiked. Meditated...It was transformative." See more photos here. |
