| A plane belonging to Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Russian mercenary leader who led an armed revolt against Vladimir Putin's government, arrived in Belarus today, according to a flight-tracking website. It was not immediately known if Prigozhin was on the flight. The whereabouts of the head of the Wagner Group have been unknown since he struck a deal with Putin's government allegedly allowing him to go to Belarus in exchange for halting his rebel forces as they marched on Moscow. A criminal investigation by Russian authorities into the armed revolt ended with with no charges against Prigozhin or any others, The Associated Press reported. Putin called the rebels "traitors" in a televised address yesterday, while Prigozhin claimed he was just protecting his army from being destroyed by the Russian defense ministry. Here's the latest. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
Whoops! A Reddit user put a few too many numbers in a GoFundMe form and ended up accidentally donating $15,041 to support a charity to combat hunger in Bangladesh. The San Francisco man, identified only as Michael, meant to donate $150 and was startled when he received a text from his credit card company alerting him to the large donation. Later, he woke up to a video sent to him via Facebook showing dozens of impoverished people in Bangladesh thanking him by name for the generous sum. Michael ultimately donated $1,500 after everything got sorted out, but that wasn't the end of it. His viral Reddit post led to more than $115,000 pouring into the online fundraiser, saving a charity that was running low on funding. "The guilty feeling never quite went away when the donation went from $15,000 to $1,500 — but it certainly has now," Michael told TODAY.com. "The online community more than covered for me and now I feel so proud of this whole story." |
