Zach Stroup, 26, was being treated for a second bout of cancer after surviving non-Hodgkin lymphoma when he feared he may not survive. A tumor was removed from his spine, cancer had spread to his brain, and his colon had ruptured from chemotherapy. He and his fiancée, Madison, 24, decided to make the best of what they thought was the short time they had left, so they got married in an emotional ceremony at a Denver hospital in April. Five months later, Zach is in remission and has not needed any treatment. "Our wedding definitely gave me a lot of hope," Zach told us. "I had pretty much given up on myself, but I still wanted to fight for Maddy, and that's what I did." |
