How to communicate to get what you want in life

TODAY One Small Thing
From a new job to finding love to forming friendships, we all want to create a better life. It starts with how you connect with people, says "Leading Clarity" author Brad Deutser.

"We all have the ability to connect. We just have to work at it," he notes.

One of his favorite ways to do that is to make an effort to add 15 seconds to every conversation – whether it's face-to-face, by phone or by text. In every interaction, be intentional about what you say, give context and think about the person you're talking to as a friend, a parent, a human. It sets you up for better communication and the chance to get the outcome you want.
