The monthly lunar union with Ceres (2:19AM) -- a very nurturing, comforting and productive aspect -- would seem to negate what was mentioned yesterday, that a void lunar cycle started at the New Moon on Tuesday and would continue until 8:58PM tonight. However, the four main asteroids -- Ceres, Pallas, Juno and Vesta (all discovered between 1801 and 1807) -- have never been utilized in the calculations used to figure out void lunar cycles. For that matter, even though Chiron is worked with by almost every professional astrologer in America, it is also not included when determining void lunar starting and ending points. Whether using the asteroids and Chiron is correct or not, this morning's Moon-Ceres alignment is still filled with meaning and importance. The big news of the day arrives several hours later when Jupiter makes the first of three oppositions to Pluto (4:47PM) at 10 degrees of Cancer-Capricorn. You should recall that it was only two days ago that Pallas join forces with Jupiter and then yesterday that Pallas made a rare opposition to Pluto. Now the two mythological brothers of ancient Roman mythology who ruled the sky (Jupiter) and the underworld (Pluto) are stirring up trouble on the social, cultural, business and professional fronts. This is not the right time to make a big deal about something that is low key or moderately significant. While discord between dear ones is common under a Jupiter-Pluto polarity, it is also possible to forge deep, sensitive ties due to the psychological bond between these two planets. [Jupiter and Pluto will also reach opposition on January 31 and April 20, 2014.] At 8:58PM, the Moon finally leaves void status in fixed, fiery Leo for mutable, earthy Virgo. Transform yourself into an efficiency master and organizational maestro during the next 48 hours. (Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.)
