Police are investigating after actor Hayden Panettiere, the star of TV hits "Heroes" and "Nashville," died at 36 yesterday. The Greenville Police Department in South Carolina released a statement saying the "Remember the Titans" star was found unresponsive by emergency personnel following a 911 call.

Barb Ewers, 68, was ready to ring the bell after her final day of chemotherapy when she said it turned into "a day like I’ve never had before." She was stunned to see her granddaughter, Faith Dyer, 19, who had driven seven hours through the night from the military base where she serves in the Air Force in order to surprise her. "I was nervous and excited, and I just could not wait to see her," Dyer told NBC News.
