Oscar-winning director and legendary actor Robert Redford, who starred in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," "All the President's Men" and "Out of Africa," died at 89 yesterday, a publicist for Redford said. Redford, who retired from acting in 2018, also founded the Sundance Film Festival, one of the premier independent film festivals in the world.
When college student Joey Romano broke his wrist while skateboarding in 2018, he called an Uber instead of an ambulance because he didn't have good insurance. Driver Beni Lukumu not only took him to the emergency room for no charge, he sat with Romano for six hours. Lukumu's selfless act came at a dark time for Romano, who was struggling with the loss of his 10-year-old brother to leukemia. "That one act of kindness helped me see the good in the world again," Romano tells TODAY.com.
