Aubrey Hasley experienced "really loud" ringing in her ears and dizziness last year, which prompted a trip to the emergency room. Doctors initially started treating her for vertigo, but her symptoms only worsened. Tests ultimately determined Hasley, who was 22 at the time, was having a stroke. Thanks to quick intervention, she didn't need to undergo any physical, speech or occupational rehabilitation to recover, but she is looking to raise awareness that a stroke can happen at any age. "I didn't want to be dramatic and get there and them tell me it was just a migraine and send me home," she told TODAY.com. "But we know our bodies, and it's important to listen to that." |
