Singer Jill Sobule, known for the 1995 song "I Kissed a Girl," died in a house fire in Minnesota yesterday morning, her representatives told NBC News. She was 66. Officials said firefighters in Woodbury discovered a dead woman after a house fire that was reported around 5:30 a.m. yesterday. "I Kissed a Girl" reached No. 20 on Billboard's modern rock chart, becoming the first openly queer-themed song to achieve those heights. Sobule was also known for the song "Supermodel" from the soundtrack to the classic 1995 movie "Clueless." |
