Gene Hackman, the Oscar-winning actor from classics such as "The French Connection" and "Unforgiven," was found dead in his New Mexico home yesterday alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 64, and the couple's dog, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office. He was 95. "Foul play is not suspected as a factor in those deaths at this time however exact cause of death has not been determined," authorities said. An investigation into their deaths is ongoing. |

The cast and creators of "Gossip Girl" paid tribute to actor Michelle Trachtenberg, who was found dead in New York City yesterday at 39. Trachtenberg began her career as a child star, leading the 1996 Nickelodeon film "Harriet the Spy" before landing the role of Dawn Summers on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." In 2008, she was cast as the duplicitous Georgina Sparks on "Gossip Girl," one of her most recognizable roles. "Her portrayal of Georgina Sparks was an iconic fan favorite," the show's creators said in a statement. |
