All passengers are feared dead after a regional jet carrying 60 passengers and four crew members collided with an Army helicopter in midair near Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., late last night. "We are switching from a rescue operation to a recovery operation. At this point I don't believe we are going to find any survivors," Fire and EMS Chief John Donnelly said in a news conference this morning. American figure skaters, coaches and family members who had been at camp in Wichita, Kansas, were among the jet passengers, according to U.S. Figure Skating. |
