| After two days of stunning remote explosions that killed at least 37 people, Israel on Thursday launched a new wave of attacks against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. The airstrikes and artillery attacks, which Israel said hit Hezbollah launchers and infrastructure sites aimed at Israel, came as the leader of the Iran-backed group called the simultaneous detonations of thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies an act of "war" and vowed revenge. Mark Robinson, the Republican candidate for governor in North Carolina, vowed to stay in the race Thursday following a bombshell CNN report that said he made dozens of lewd and inflammatory comments on an online porn forum years ago. CNN reported that Robinson called himself a "black NAZI," said slavery should be reinstated in the U.S., and made other graphic and disturbing comments. Ohio woman Tammy Weihe loved the "whimsical nature" of the skeletons in the yard of a neighbor's home on her drive every day to undergo radiation treatment for breast cancer. She wrote a note thanking the homeowners for cheering her up, and then was delighted the next time she drove by. Homeowners Bill and Judy Pyles and their children had the skeletons holding signs of encouragement like "Way to Go Tammy!" after Weihe finished her treatments. "It was pretty emotional and very overwhelming," Weihe told us. See more photos. |
