Ryan Routh, the man arrested in connection with an apparent attempt to assassinate Donald Trump on a Florida golf course, had been camped out with a loaded SKS-style rifle near the course for 12 hours before he was spotted, a court filing revealed yesterday. Routh, 58, did not have Trump in his line of sight and did not fire his weapon, but was equipped to kill, according to the criminal complaint. Bodycam footage from his arrest released yesterday showed him wearing sunglasses and a pink T-shirt pulled over his head. The suspect, a former Trump supporter who turned against him in part for foreign policy reasons, now faces two firearm charges. Here's the latest. |
