New York City Mayor Eric Adams is expected to face federal charges by prosecutors out of the Southern District of New York as soon as today, two sources told NBC News. Charges were not immediately clear, and the indictment is sealed, CNBC reported. One of the investigations is believed to be about whether Adams' mayoral campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal campaign contributions. A wave of officials have called on Adams to resign. "If I am charged, I am innocent and I will fight this with every ounce of my strength and spirit," Adams said in a statement last night.
