One of the world's most iconic surf breaks produced an unforgettable photo yesterday during the third round of Olympic competition in Tahiti. Brazilian Gabriel Medina was competing in his heat at Teahupo'o when he caught a giant wave, popped out of the barrel and gave the judges a "No. 1" sign in mid-air. Italian high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi was enjoying one of the best moments of his life as the nation's flag bearer on the Seine during the opening ceremony when disaster struck: His wedding ring went flying into the river. Tamberi turned a rough situation into an opportunity to send a message of love to his wife, Chiara Bontempi Tamberi. "I think there might be a poetic side to yesterday's misdeed, and if you want, we'll throw yours into that river, too, so they'll be together forever," he wrote in Italian on Instagram.
