Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the Gulf Coast of Texas as a Category 1 storm early this morning, hitting near the town of Matagorda with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. Dangerous and potentially life-threatening storm surges, flash flooding and strong winds are all possible, the National Hurricane Center said. At least 300,000 people were without power as of 6:10 a.m. ET. Here's the latest. |

Jason Henriques was playing with his 3-year-old son one day when the boy remarked, "'Daddy, when I get big like you, I want a big tummy like you,'" he told TODAY.com.
