It's time to put those special eclipse glasses to use! A solar eclipse will take place today when the moon moves between the Earth and the sun, and tens of millions will be in the path of totality, where the moon completely blocks the sun as it passes over the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Ninety-nine percent of people in the U.S. will be able to catch a glimpse of a partial or total eclipse from where they live, according to NASA. If you want to watch the event, it's important to follow safety precautions to avoid damaging your eyes. Here are helpful tips to properly view it, plus Al's forecast for the day and how to watch it on a livestream or TV. |

South Carolina became the first women's college basketball team to go undefeated since 2016 when the Gamecocks knocked off Iowa, 87-75, in the NCAA championship Sunday. South Carolina withstood 30 points from Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark, who ended her magical college career as the NCAA's all-time leading scorer. Walmart has settled a class-action lawsuit, which alleged customers paid more than the in-store advertised price for weighted goods or bagged citrus fruits. Walmart has agreed to pay $45 million to customers, with some shoppers receiving up to $500. "We still deny the allegations, however we believe a settlement is in the best interest of both parties," Walmart told us in a statement. If you purchased weighted goods like meat, poultry, pork and seafood or bagged citrus between October 2018 and January 2024, you could be eligible to receive a check. Last summer, Pennsylvania postal carrier Len Barchanowicz, 45, experienced sharp pangs in his neck that felt like a pinched nerve. They eventually grew worse, and he developed chest pain and had trouble breathing. A visit to the emergency room revealed an orange-sized mass in his chest that turned out to be a thymoma, a type of rare cancer of the thymus in the front of the chest. A surgeon removed the mass and 14 lymph nodes, and Len is on the road to recovery. "It's so weird that one day everything's going great and then you get hit with this," he says. Read more. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
David Lautman may have pulled off one of the best engagements ever when he took an old commercial he starred in with his girlfriend and used it as a springboard to propose. Megan Wang noticed the old ad playing and whipped out her phone, suspecting she wasn't being compensated for it airing again. The ad turned into an extended cut, in which the on-screen Lautman pops the question. Wang's video of the moment has more than 4 million likes on TikTok. "It's all about having a good time and just not taking life too seriously," Lautman told us. See the video here. |
