Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, has been indicted on nine tax-related charges, including three felony counts, that include allegations that he failed to pay taxes, failed to file, evaded an assessment and filed a fraudulent form, according to documents filed yesterday in a federal court in Los Angeles. The indictment says that "rather than pay his taxes, the Defendant spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle." The indictment alleges that Biden spent the money on "drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature" instead of paying taxes. He could face up to 17 years in prison if convicted. Here's the latest. |

A mystery illness sickening dogs in at least 14 states has left veterinarians searching for answers about the cause. The illness usually starts with a cough and can progress to pneumonia that can turn fatal if the dog is struggling to get enough oxygen. Researchers at the University of New Hampshire have found a bacterium they believe may be the cause, while other experts have suggested it's possible that the root of the sickness is a bacteria or virus that has been around for a while but hasn't been identified before. We have tips on when to see the vet if your dog is showing symptoms, and how to protect against your pooch getting sick. |

Too much food, drink and stress over the holidays can make for a not-so-festive time for your heart, even if you're healthy, cardiologists say. A little pick-me-up before you go. |
A holiday plea that started with tears of sadness ended with tears of gratitude for English teacher Cheri Guy. In November, she became emotional in a TikTok video when asking for donations to the "Wishmas" program, which grants requests to students at her Las Vegas high school who are living in poverty and foster care. She read heartbreaking wishes that were as simple as Taki chips "so I won't feel hungry" and slippers "to protect me from the cold." Packages began pouring in from around the country for more than 300 students, leaving Guy shedding tears for a different reason. "If you can just think about, 'What can I do for one person?' That's changing a world — and if we could all do that? Just imagine what our society would turn into," she told us. Learn more about the program here. |
