In its latest filing last night, the legal team for former President Donald Trump renewed its request for a third party to review documents seized by the FBI from his Mar-a-Lago estate. An important hearing is scheduled for today in which a federal judge will rule on whether to appoint an independent special master to review the classified documents that were seized. Serena Williams put her expected retirement on hold last night by taking down the No. 2 seed in the U.S. Open, Estonia's Anett Kontaveit, in front of nearly 30,000 fans at New York's Arthur Ashe Stadium. Williams, 40, advanced to tomorrow's third-round match in her quest to win a seventh U.S. Open (and 24th Grand Slam) to cap her legendary career. "There's still a little left in me," she said in a post-match interview. "We'll see." |

An analysis of data from nearly 40 million pregnant individuals revealed that people born between 1996 and 2004 were 2.61 times more likely to be diagnosed with high blood pressure during their pregnancies than those born between 1951 to 1959, according to a new report in JAMA Network Open. High blood pressure can raise the risk of severe complications and death while giving birth. "Our hypothesis is that it's for many of the same reasons we're seeing cardiovascular disease increasing in both men and women: worsening diets, lower activity levels and obesity. Individuals now are entering pregnancy with more excess weight," study co-author Dr. Sadiya Khan said. |
