About 95% of what people in the Blue Zones eat is plant-based, which can help lower your risk of heart disease, lower cholesterol levels, lower blood sugar levels and prevent cancer.
But don't think you're restricted to just vegetables. Many things are plant-based, including whole-grain bread and pasta, chickpeas and beans.
