How to find mental health resources during a pandemic

Every day, the news is overwhelming and staying at home might worsen symptoms of loneliness or depression.

Finding crisis mental health care can feel especially challenging right now, but experts want people to reach out for help when needed. Technology allows both therapists and psychiatrists to provide care to patients from a distance. They can also conduct sessions over the phone.

Contacting support lines is also an important option, including calling the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or texting HELLO to 741741 for 24/7 support from the Crisis Text line.
