The Guilford School District is helping students who fell behind during the pandemic catch up through its Learning Hubs. The hubs are programs at each of its 15 high schools that provide students with in- and after-school tutoring in core subjects as well as mentoring opportunities for 9th and 10th graders to focus on career readiness. Students are also exposed to increased SEL development and family engagement opportunities. The district is using innovative ideas, like transportation stipends for families, to overcome the logistical challenges presented by extending the school day, allowing more students to catch up. |
